In this chapter, the author aims to tease out some of the more particular ways in which theatre has been, and might yet be, involved in the web. This involves attending to questions of both theatre production and reception. She focuses on one of the areas that have received the most scholarly attention: contemporary Anglo-Western disability theatre practices and the dramatic and theatrical traditions that they seek to disrupt. Some disability theatre artists and activists focus more on highlighting the overwhelming ways by which theatre training, production, and reception systems have thus far overwhelmingly favoured non-disabled people in their pursuit of and access to the artificial and transformative power. Many disability theatre artists point to the need for more accessible training, auditioning, casting, and production protocols. A number of successful disability theatre companies focus more specifically on particular kinds of access. The author have learnt of and witnessed many bewildering and provocative theatre moments.
